Death By Unga Bunga continue to explore the role of the modern man with all his struggles and insecurities. The new music surfacing in 2023 is a logical continuation of Heavy Male Insecurity, but with even tighter songwriting and deeper lyrics.
On “Camouflage” we follow a person who camouflages himself, with varying degrees of success, “hiding in plain sight”. He’s not entirely in touch with his feelings. He pretends to be fine, but behind his false smile, he’s very lonely.
Death By Unga Bunga is a Spelleman Award-nominated Norwegian garage-rock quintet. Their 2021 album Heavy Male Insecurity received press support from Backseat Mafia, Mind Noise Network, Punknews, New Noise, RPM Online. They've shared stages with Ash, Sheer Mag, Stiff Little Fingers, and played SXSW several times. The band has received previous press plaudits from NPR, Brooklyn Vegan, PopMatters, Clash, Stereogum, and airplay on Little Steven's Underground Garage.
